Project Description
Terminalia superba
Also known as Frake, Limba, Afara, and Korina, Limba is native to west Africa. Veneer color ranges from yellow to light brown. Rays are fine and irregular. Pores are scarce, but large enough to give an interesting grain character. It has medium texture and hardness, and is a naturally blonde wood of good working properties.
This particular example shown exhibits a unique type of figuring known as block mottle.
